Description

You will practise realistic conversations that happen when shopping for clothes. By the end of the session, you will be able to ask for help, describe what you want, ask about prices and sizes, and respond naturally to a shop assistant.

Session Activities

1: With the Tutor you will learn how to ask for different sizes and colours, check prices, try clothes on, and explain what you are looking for.

1: What do you usually say when you enter a clothes shop and need help?

2: How would you ask a shop assistant if they have something in a different size?

3: What would you say if you wanted to try something on?

4: How would you ask about the price of an item?

5: What would you say if you liked a shirt but it was too expensive?

6: What questions might you ask before buying a new jacket or pair of trousers?

7: What would you say if the clothes you tried on didn't fit properly?

8: What would you say if you wanted to return something you had bought?

Fit (noun/verb)

how well a piece of clothing is the right size and shape for you. Example: The fit is perfect, but the trousers are too long.

Try on (phrasal verb)

to put on clothes to see if they fit or look good. Example: Can I try on this jacket?

Refund (noun)

money that a shop gives back when you return something. Example: Can I get a refund if the shirt doesn't fit?
